verdego.net is an independent editorial publication about interior design, home decor, renovation and retail and hospitality interiors. This page explains how we research and write our guides, how we handle corrections, and how we treat sponsorship and advertising.
How we research and write
- Practical first. Every guide should help a reader make a real decision: what size, what order, what to ask, what to avoid.
- Established knowledge only. We rely on widely accepted design practice, manufacturer documentation, public guidance from government and standards bodies, and well-established facts.
- Rules of thumb are labeled. Many design numbers, such as rug borders, aisle widths or contingency percentages, are conventions rather than requirements. We say so.
- No invented evidence. We do not fabricate statistics, studies, quotes, testimonials, case studies or credentials.
- Codes and safety. Building codes, accessibility rules, fire safety, health regulations and permit requirements vary by location and change over time. We describe general principles and tell readers to confirm requirements locally with licensed professionals. Our guides are not professional, legal or engineering advice.
- Original writing. Our guides are written for this site. We do not copy other publications’ text.
- Independence. verdego.net is not a design firm and does not sell products or services. We are not affiliated with any former owner of this domain; see About.
Updates and corrections
We review guides periodically and update them when information changes. If we make a factual error, we correct it promptly. Significant corrections are noted at the end of the article with the date of the change. To report an error, use our contact page.
